Don Sol Mexican Grill in Marion

First time visiting Don Sol. If was very good. Will definitely go back again.

These guys are amazing. They are prompt with your meal, it's hot, it looks like it straight off the menu. The new location allows for more seating and they never seem to be behind. They are professional while your having your meal. I highly recommend Don Sol for lunch or dinner.

I have been a fan of don sol since it was in its previous location. I love the new building it has a great atmosphere. Fantastic wait staff always good service. The food is good. It’s definitely a different style and may not be for everyone. Pictured below is the caribe shrimp which is a great dish for shrimp lovers. I enjoy their fajitas as well. Definitely would recommend.

Used to be my fave Mexican place. Tonight was disappointing. Service not great, messed up my order, charged $.65 for 2 pickle slices. Its really gone downhill since my last visit.

The chimichanga was good and we were in and out quickly.

The service was great. The menu is huge! They have moved into a new building about 3 months ago as of this posting. The food was really good. The prices are a little higher than they were in the smaller location. The salsa is chili powder based but it's still good. Go try this place. It's clean and really good.

Best chain Tex-Mex in Carbondale/Marion area. Have yet to have a disappointing meal on the menu. Affordable and good drink and food deals throughout the week as well.

I appreciate the way they accommodated a party of 14 last minute. The wait was minimal and the food was fresh and full of flavor. The waiter was attentive and amiable. I would eat there again.

We’ve gone 5 times in three weeks. I always get the fajita bowl with steak and it’s great. My wife gets and loves the mini taquitos

Great food, great price and cold beer

In town for one night at the Comfort Inn, and ordered curbside on a whim—such a good decision! Al pastor tacos were delicious! Ready super quickly!

Very nice atmosphere, super clean, very friendly, my bartender, Hailey makes a great drink with outstanding service.The food is very good I would have rated 5 stars but I'm use too very authentic Mexican being from Arizona and Northern NJ and a picky SOB. The only improvement they can make is to put a foot pedal on bathroom door so you don't have to touch the handle.

Service was terrible, food wasn't any better. The chicken taquitos looked like mashed up beans, but waiter assured me it was chicken. Never saw or tasted chicken like that! Beef flauta was chewy & tasteless. Chips hard. Only decent things were the salsa, Pico de gallo, & cheese enchilada was pretty good. Tea was good when you could ever get a refill! Won't be going back to another Don Sol!

Great food and atmosphere

My best friend and I had a delicious lunch at Don Sol today, 06/15/2020, on the patio. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, indoor dining is still not allowed. I'd still want to dine on the patio, though. The seating is comfortable & the service was excellent. My Fajitas Nachos were just the right size for a lunch portion & tasted very good. I'd never had them before and was excited to try them. I was not disappointed.My best friend got a Grilled Shrimp Bowl (shrimp & veggies over rice) and enjoyed it immensely.I'm sorry I didn't take pictures, but we were starving. When the food came, we dug in! 😊Don Sol always has delicious food. I highly recommend it.

At first I was going to give 3 stars. That wouldn't be fare. The food I ordered was good and full of flavors. Fajitas bowl. The food arrived quickly. We didn't see our waitress as often as I would have liked. Restaurants are just taking seated customers back. That's why it's not fare to be too critical.

The food is always wonderful. Tried the chicken fajita bowl my last visit and it was delicious! The Coronarita was very tasty as well. I usually order for pickup because it's easier but this time dining in was enjoyable, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere.

This was our first visit to Don Sol and I must say we were very impressed. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated and the food and service was very good. We would recommend this place to all who like Mexican food.

A very good Mexican restaurant in Marion. I wish they had combo numbers like other Mexican places but thats the only negative I have.

We were visiting the area and decided to stop here to eat and I’m so glad we did! The chorizo queso appetizer was great, as well as the chimichanga trio. We will definitely be making a point to visit again. Very clean, quick service and nice atmosphere.

The new location is great. I've always enjoyed this restaurant. In particular I like the chorizo meat and horchata to drink.

It’s one of the better Mexican dining experiences in the area. The service is usually on point and the food is always consistent.They do serve a mean Fish Bowl or so I am told.

Always an excellent place to go. Fair prices and a good atmosphere. Seats are a little close at some spots but other than that, it's clean and always hopping during meal times.

I visited Marion, IL to meet up with my friends and had some relaxing time here. From few towns around the area there wasn’t much to do expect drink/food. My friend took me to Don Sol for some authentic Mexican food. I was very happy because the taste of the Mexican food was very different and authentic, it’s almost as home made kind of touch to it. The one section of the menu I was surprise is that they had vegetarian options and the potato salad was something very unique and I never seen this dish. I highly recommend this place for vegetarian!

We have never had a bad meal at Don Sol. Now we call in & they bring to to the car.
